Piles
Hemorrhoids or arshas in Ayurveda is a condition where the veins of anus and rectum are swollen leading to exteremely painful condition. Arshas can be of bleeding or non-bleeding variety and can be located internally or externally. The symptoms include presence of mass per rectum, pain during defecation, anal itching or burning sensation. Usually piles is seen in chronic constipation cases.

Fissure in ano
Anal fissure is an extremely common condition, in which there is a tear in the anal mucosa. This usually occurs due to straining during defecation. Fissures are painful with the presence of streaks of blood in stool. Ayurveda refers this condition as parikartikaand advices internal medications along with certain local applications to heal the wound.

Anal fistula
Anal fistula is a tract connecting the anus to the external skin. Usually it occurs when there is a history of anal abscess; where the patient might have experienced fever with pain and swelling near the anal region. Subsequently it leads to discharge near the anus with pain and itching. Ayurveda describes this condition as Bhagandhara.
At Radhakrishna Ayurvedic Hospital, the condition can be cured completely without any need for surgical intervention. We perform a novel ayurvedic procedure on the patient called Ksharasutra. This Ksharasutra therapy is a WHO accepted treatment for fistula. Pilonidal Sinus
A small opening in the natal cleft (between the buttocks) associated with pus discharge, pain, itching is seen in Pilonidal Sinus. In Ayurveda it is termed as Nadivrana. Initially there is a history of abscess in the buttocks region which later becomes a tract. The condition is recurrent, and surgery is the only available option. In Ayurveda, the condition can be managed easily .
