Dr. Murali Krishna and Dr Sri Vishnu Priya are specialized in treating urinary tract infections.

Urinary tract infections (UTI) or Mutrakrichra in Ayurveda is a common condition causing pain during micturation, burning micturation, fever, abdominal pain, and pain during sex. UTIs are more common in women than in men. Children are more susceptible resulting in abscence to school. Untreated UTIs are a cause of concern as they result in Recurrent UTIs, damage to kidneys, sepsis, urethral stricture in males. In pregnant women UTIs can be one of the reason for abortion, premature delivery, and babies born with low birth weight. Mentioned below are some of the Urinary tract related disorders we treat at Radhakrishna Ayurvedic Hospital.

Pyelonephritis

Pyelonephritis or kidney infection is a type of urinary tract infection that begins in the bladder but ascends upwards resulting in infection of kidney. Symptoms include fever with chills, nausea, vomiting, pain in the flanks, back and groin, painful and burning micturition, pus or blood in urine. Pyelonephritis can be understood as Virkkavidhradi or Mutrakrichra in Ayurveda.

At Radhakrishna Ayurvedic Hospital, the treatment to Pyelonephritis is done using internal ayurvedic medicines which reduce the infection and prevents damage to kidneys.

Renal calculi

Renal calculi or nephrolithiasis or kidney stones are caused due to certain medicines, diet, genetic factors, and underlying conditions like hyperparathyroidism, urinary tract infections etc., Stones can occur in any part of the tract i.e.- from kidneys to bladder. They can cause excruciating pain in the back, usually radiating to the abdomen and groin. There may also be pain or burning sensation while passing urine. Some times blood in urine can be noticed followed by fever with chills, nausea and vomiting. Ayurveda describes in detail about Ashmari (or kidney stones) and their management through various medicines.

At Radhakrishna Ayurvedic Hospital, we offer modern treatment which include lithotripsy and lithotomy. We also treat stone removal through oral medications which also prevent their recurrence.

Chronic kidney disease

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a condition in which there is a gradual loss of kidney function. Generalized symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weakness, sleep problems, muscle cramps, swelling of face and feet, dry itchy skin are observed. In severe cases high blood pressure, shortness of breath (due to accumulation of fluid in lungs), chest pain etc., may be present. In Ayurveda, Chronic kidney disease is explained as Vrikkaroga, occuring due to mutravahasrotasdushti.

At Radhakrishna Ayurvedic Hospital, our doctors aim at improving the kidney function, reducing the complications and preventing or reducing the need for dialysis in case of chronic kidney disease.
